Infrared Cameras

Need to see what's going on in the dark?, then an infrared security camera is what you need. Infrared, or IR as they are often called, cameras use what is known as an IR emitter to illuminate the night via thermal imaging. Unlike day/night camera technology that is intended for low-light level recording, infrared cameras can see in pitch darkness. Most will only show a grayish image but you will see true detail.
IR cameras are more expensive than a regular CCTV camera and the professional models come with a separate illumunator and the camera. The illuminator blankets the area looking for infrared energy that is undetectable by the human eye. Since all objects emit infrared energy these cameras can pick up objects obscured by smoke and haze.
These cameras are excellent all around survellance cameras as they can see 24/7. Because of their cost, most applications are business but high-end residential installations may include several of these cameras.
